I received a parking ticket in Hartford. Where do I pay it?

There are multiple ways to pay a parking ticket.

Pay at the “Utilities” window on the second floor of City Hall
Drop your envelope with payment in the drop box located just inside the main doors of City Hall at 109 North Main Street
Drop your envelope with payment in the drop box located in the lobby on the southwest corner of City Hall off of North Johnson Street.

1. How do I obtain an auto accident report?: Accident reports from 6/1/2021 onward can be requested from LexisNexis using the link on the Forms & Applications page

4. Can you give me a copy of my driving record?: The Hartford Police Department is not allowed to give out copies of a person's driving record. Wisconsin Administrative Code, Chapter 195 explains how you can obtain a copy of your driving record. You will have to contact:

You must include your complete 14 digit drivers license number, or your complete name, date of birth, sex, or all of the information above.
There is a fee for this service.

You can call the Department of Transportation at 608-266-2353 to request your drivers record.

5. How are the road conditions?: If you have a touch tone phone, you can call 262-335-4378, option 3 during the recorded greeting. The information provided is based on reports from sheriff's deputies in the field and is updated as needed. Regional information is included during major storms

6. What is the curfew in Hartford?: Municipal ordinance 41.04 sets the curfew for minors. Municipal Ordinance 41 (PDF)

7. Do I need to register my bicycle?: Hartford Municipal Ordinance 37.01 requires all bicycles in the city to be registered with the Hartford Police Department. There is a 1 time registration fee for each bicycle. The bicycle license is good for as long as you own your bicycle. There is a replacement fee for lost or damaged stickers. Application forms for bicycle registration can be obtained from the Hartford Police Department. We ask for basic information regarding the bicycle and the bicycle owner and issue a license sticker to be placed on the frame of the bicycle. It is important that you provide the serial number of your bicycle. If your bicycle is ever stolen, we will have a record of your bicycle serial number in our file. This will allow us to return your bicycle to you when it is recovered. If you have any questions about bicycle registration you can call the Hartford Police Department at 262-673-2600. 9. How can I get a tour of the Police Department for my group?: The quickest way to get a tour of the Police Department is to contact Police School Liaison Officer Eric Rasmussen at 262-670-3609.

11. What are the Department's hours of operation?: The department operates 24/7. There is always someone on-duty.

12. How can I acquire a copy of a police or accident report?: Reports are usually available within 3 to 5 working days after the incident and can be obtained by submitting a written request to the Police Department. There is a nominal fee for copies of reports.

13. How can I learn about deceptive business practices and scams?: You can find information on Wisconsin's top consumer complaints and get information on deceptive business practices and scams by calling the Consumer Protection Hotline at 800-422-7128 or by contacting the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

14. I found some medication in my child's possession and I don't know what it is. How can I identify it?: Contact the Poison Control Center at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee by calling 800-815-8855 24 hours a day. You will need to provide the nurse with the color, shape, and a description of any insignia or imprints on the pills.

15. I have a private alarm at my home or business. Do I need a permit?: Per Municipal Ordinance 5.10(3)(a), “A permit shall be required annually of each alarm system, or local alarm, on commercial, multi-family, or private premises within the City of Hartford,“ and, 5.10(5)(1) “No person shall install an alarm system, or local alarm, or use or possess an operative alarm system, or local alarm, without having a permit in accordance with the provisions of this subsection.” The form to apply for this permit may be found on our Forms page.
